Hello! Who are you and what remote business did you start?
My name is Jennifer Dawn, and I started Jennifer Dawn Coaching, a business coaching company. We specialize in helping businesses overcome challenges related to profitability, accountability, building the right team, and scaling their operations for growth.
What’s your personal history and the inspiration for your business?
My personal and professional background heavily influenced my desire to build Jennifer Dawn Coaching. Having seen firsthand how business owners often find themselves stuck in a cycle of constant “doing,” unpredictable cash flow, and managing misaligned teams, I was inspired to create a solution.
I wanted to empower entrepreneurs to break free from these struggles and build thriving businesses with a strong, sustainable company culture that is not only profitable but also fulfilling for both owners and their teams. This mission has been the driving force behind my business coaching journey.
Describe the process of launching your remote business.
I launched Jennifer Dawn Coaching as a solo venture and have operated it as a fully remote business from the very beginning. Starting the company on my own allowed me the freedom to shape its direction and services according to my vision.
The remote nature of the business has given me the flexibility to work with clients from different locations, offering them the guidance and support they need, no matter where they are.
What has worked to attract customers and earn their loyalty?
At Jennifer Dawn Coaching, attracting customers and earning their loyalty has been achieved through a strong focus on personalization and delivering consistent, high-quality services. By offering tailored coaching solutions that address each client’s unique needs, Jennifer builds a strong value proposition, making clients feel understood and supported. Exceptional customer service also plays a key role, ensuring quick responses and continuous support throughout the coaching journey, which fosters trust and long-term relationships.
Several marketing channels have been tested, including social media, email marketing, and content marketing through blogs and webinars. Social media, Particularly Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, has proven to be the most effective for attracting new clients due to the platforms’ ability to showcase success stories and offer valuable content that resonates with Jennifer’s target audience.
Additionally, the use of testimonials and reviews from satisfied clients has been a helpful tactic in building credibility and trust. Word-of-mouth referrals, supported by a formal referral program, have been another powerful strategy, turning satisfied clients into advocates who help attract new business.
Knowing what you know now, are there things you would have done differently when first starting out?
I would have hired a coach! So many things I had to figure out myself but having that person in your court who has already “been there done that” is invaluable. The other thing I would have done differently is putting more emphasis on my own inner work. This is crucial to not just success in business, but happiness in life and I would have made it more of a priority back then.
What has been the best part of starting a remote business?
The best part of starting a remote business has been the flexibility it offers, allowing me to work from anywhere and create a better work-life balance.
What platform/tools do you use for your business?
I chose to use Social Media to promote my Best Planner Ever. For hosting, I opted for WordPress which ensures my site runs smoothly and efficiently.
What have been the most influential books, networking groups, podcasts, or other resources you’ve found?
Books I love: Profit First, Traction, Atomic Habits, Built to Sell, Leadership & Self Deception
Favorite Podcasts: The Ed Mylett Show, The Life Coach School, Mel Robbins
Advice for other entrepreneurs who want to build a remote business of their dreams?
Yes, you can do it. Don’t let anyone get in the way, but build it smart. Don’t quit your “day job” until you have some income coming in.
Find the right coach, watch your budget, and enjoy the process.
Are there any positions or internships you’re hiring for right now?
At the moment, we are not hiring for any positions or internships. While we appreciate the interest from those looking to join our team, we are currently focused on our existing projects and do not have any openings available. We encourage interested candidates to keep an eye on our future opportunities as we grow and evolve.
