Hello! Who are you and what business did you start?
Hello, my name is Kristin and my remote business allows me to travel the world on my time while helping people as I do it.
I sell online coaching programs that help high achieving entrepreneurs banish burn-out, find balance, and realize self-worth and fulfillment comes from focusing their flow from within.
My company helps unstoppable, but unfulfilled high achievers find purpose and meaning within their true identity. My ‘Focus Your Flow’ program is a step by step journey to finding and maintaining an effortless fluidity between focus and flow. Once the energy balance is mastered, fulfillment, security and self-worth govern one’s identity, and the same system of principles can be translated and applied to any desire in alignment with one’s ultimate purpose. The process can be returned to, again and again, in order to come back to balance when one strays from their path.
What's your backstory, and how did you come up with the idea?
I went to college and majored in civil engineering because I thought that’s what I wanted to do, but after a few years in the industry I felt myself suffering from burnout. I had so many passions that I didn’t have time for like yoga, scuba diving, elite equestrian show jumping and so much more. It wasn’t until I became certified in yoga and became a scuba dive master that I realized my passions for life shouldn’t be delayed while I spend 60 years in a cubicle doing unfulfilling work. My personal experience and life story has led to my company and personal vision. I believe in a world where unconditional love guides every human to thrive effortlessly without fear and it’s one of the foundations to my courses. My unique experiences and problem solving expertise alchemized the idea for my company and over time I’ve learned how to connect and leverage those experiences to connect with others and improve their lives in the process.
Since launch, what has worked to attract and retain customers?
Most of my initial customers were found through social media, more specifically instagram. I reached out to everyone I knew that were business owners or that I felt could benefit from my experiences. I began fine-tuning my process and courses based on the results of my clients. It was such a rewarding experience to see them succeed in areas they never could before because of my help. Word of mouth has helped greatly as well to attract new clients and I’m currently in the process of moving my outreach efforts to LinkedIn.
How are you doing today, and what does the future look like?
I am so thrilled. It took quite a bit of trial and error, and a few mentors to get some traction, but my company is growing faster than expected and projections for the new year are looking overwhelmingly prosperous.
What has been the best part of starting a remote business?
The best part of starting a remote business is allowing my passion for helping others drive my purpose. I am making an aligned impact towards my vision and able to make an income from it. There really aren’t enough words to state how proud I am of overcoming my fears and finding a purpose I truly believe in that also helps others.
What platform/tools do you use for your business?
I mainly use Instagram for sharing personal stories, quick mental health tips, and effective tactics my clients and I use to see improvements in their career and lives. It allows me to tell a story in my terms and in ways I’ve personally experienced. I also use Telegram for messaging and staying on the same page with everything as I travel around.
What hosting platform are you using? Bluehost, Shopify, Kinsta, or something else?
I’m planning on building out a personal coaching website this coming year, but this is just a reminder that having a website is not necessary to be successful nor should it stop you from starting. For payments I use Stripe and it’s worked very well.
What equipment have you found valuable for working remotely?
Noise canceling headphones are invaluable, especially when you travel around as much as I do. I’ve been able to work all over the world and these babies have been with me the entire time.
What have been the most influential books, podcasts, or other resources you've found?
My favorite book that’s helped tremendously is Alex Hormozi – $100M Offers: How To Make Offers So Good People Feel Stupid Saying No. The value in there is amazing and I highly recommend it if you’re in any type of selling position. I’ve also found that using my real life network has been extremely humbling and educational. We have so many friends in our lives and we never know what we can learn from each of them unless we ask. It’s very simple, but not many people do it. I’ve learned so much from my mentors that have helped me become better in all aspects of my life and business.
Advice for other entrepreneurs who want to build a remote business or are just starting out?
Make sure you set a crystal clear target, track your efforts, and commit without any other outcomes. And above all..start today! It’s easy to see nothing but hurdles to overcome, but as long as you get started and keep going you’re farther than anyone is by just planning.
Where can we go to learn more?
Check out and follow me at instagram.com/kristin.wanner to learn about my business, strategies, and personal aspects of life I share with my community. I’ve learned that if you want people to share their truths and vulnerabilities with you then it’s imperitive to reciprocate. My instagram is where you’ll learn more about who I am, what I believe, where I’m traveling to, and what lessons I’ve learned and can share with others.
